Materials: Alabaster
Method: Hand sculpted
Description:
This breath-taking sculpture is created using alabaster, carved by the artist's skilful hand. The fine grained textures of this natural mineral are a beautiful compliment to the undulating form, which effortlessly glides downwards towards the base. The translucency of the piece reveals the dark veins that occur naturally, across the alluringly smooth, rounded body. This work is influenced by Philp's continued commitment to exploring ancient sculptures, oriental and tribal art.
