This medium sized cream stoneware vessel is combined with fossil clay, reflecting the artist Sarah Jerath’s fascination with nature. The textured surface is unique, with a beautifully imperfect rim.
About the Artist:
Sarah Jerath lives in Lancashire, captivated by views of Snowdonia, the Lake District, the Irish Sea, the woods and fields surrounding her.
Sarah’s work arises from the curiosity of natural materials found along the streams and banks up on the hill. As her ceramic works develops into an art form, more conscious expressions of clay arise, a song and a rhythm echoing the elemental.
The process and making are as significant as the finished vessel. Her organic forms have an influence of ancient primitive pottery.
