"The basic geometry of sculpture is explained in Alessandra Taccia’s tranquil tonal paintings where sphere, cylinder, cone are presented in a table scene of domestic objects – as cup, saucer and plate, - reminding us of the sculptural possibilities inherent in all forms."- Nicola Tassie describes Alessandra Taccia's abstract life paintings, captured in soft pastel tones.

Alessandra Taccia, is an Italian artist and self-taught ceramist working and living in Cambridge. Originally trained in painting, her subject matter is primarily still life. She is interested in the domestic nature of the subject and has recently started working with clay to bring to life the imagined forms which feature in her paintings. Alessandra tries to find the sublime in everyday life.
“I aim to have simplicity in all I do, in my paintings I’ve chosen to use a figurative language which I reduce to form and colour, thus enabling me to focus on space and composition.”
