Yoko lives and works in Isumi, Chiba Prefecture, Japan. This is her first exhibition in the UK. Inspired by the colours, shapes and patterns in the natural world, Yoko Komae creates graceful, organic forms and vessels using a hand-building technique. Colour and texture play an important role in her work and many of her pieces are influenced by the tsubo - a Japanese term which means a jar, pot or vase with a narrow mouth.
