A pre-foundation course in 2008 introduced Hampstead-based ceramist Jennifer Morris to the freedom of working with clay. She hand-builds objects that can easily be inserted into daily life and provide both joy and a function. Jennifer loves the surprises that are intrinsic to the ceramic practice. This explains her preference for the Raku firing process, which causes crackling, and means, as Jennifer says, ‘You can never make the same exact piece twice and therein lies the magic!’
Jennifer uses an understated and limited colour palette, which draws attention to the beautiful silouhettes of her creations.
