Each piece is built by hand, using coiling techniques rather than thrown, a slow process, Paul prefers it as it allows the forms to develop naturally. Often blending a mixture of clays and experimenting with tin oxide and crude iron, Paul uses colour and tone with great care.
Each piece is created with many layers of clay and several firings varying in length creating natural and organic surface textures.
